Oman: the authentic Arabia

Turquoise wadis, golden dunes, and mountain villages: a tailor-made journey to the heart of the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman: the authentic Arabia

One country, a thousand contrasts

Oman is one of the best-kept secrets of the Arabian Peninsula. In just a few hours of driving, you go from the fragrant souks of Muscat to the fort of Nizwa, from the terraced villages of Jabal Akhdar to the dunes of Wahiba Sands, before swimming in the emerald waters of the wadis. Culture, nature, and legendary hospitality: Oman is experienced at your own pace.

From Abu Dhabi, Muscat is only about a 1-hour direct flight away. The escape is closer than you think.

✈️ Direct flight · about 1h from Abu Dhabi, 7h to 9h from France

📅 Best time · from October to April

🕐 Ideal duration · 8 to 10 days

📄 Formalities · passport valid for 6 months, entry conditions depend on nationality

GOOD TO KNOW:

From the souks of Muscat to the desert dunes, here are the experiences that make Oman magical.

THE RIGHT TIME

When to visit Oman?

☀️ October to December

The ideal start to the season: pleasant temperatures, warm sea, and beautiful light over the desert. Perfect for combining wadis, mountains, and nights under the stars.

☀️ January to April

The heart of the Omani winter: mild days and cool evenings in the desert and at Jabal Akhdar. Remember to bring a light jacket!

From May to September, the heat is very intense: I then favor the mountains of Jabal Akhdar or Dhofar, which is lush during the monsoon. I design your itinerary according to the season to enjoy the best of the country.

Céline's advice

MY EXPERTISE

✦ Cover your shoulders and knees. Modest clothing is required in mosques, souks, and villages, for both women and men.

✦ Leave early for the wadis. Wadi Shab and Wadi Bani Khalid are best explored in the morning, before the heat and the crowds.

✦ Avoid driving at night. Outside of cities, roads are poorly lit and animals are common: arrive at your destination before sunset.

✦ Ask before taking photos. Omanis are very welcoming, but it is customary to ask before taking someone's picture.

✦ Keep some cash on hand. Omani Rials are useful in villages, small restaurants, and gas stations.
