Greece: at the roots of Antiquity

One country, a thousand stories

Greece is more than just its islands. On the mainland, within a few hours' drive, you can go from the sanctuary of Delphi, clinging to the slopes of Mount Parnassus, to the ancient theaters of the Peloponnese, before strolling through the Venetian alleys of Nafplio. History, panoramas, and Mediterranean charm: experience Greece at your own pace.

From ancient sanctuaries to Mediterranean ports, here are the experiences that make Greece magical.

When to visit Greece?

THE RIGHT TIME

 ☀️ April to June

☀️ September to October

The ideal season for ancient sites: mild temperatures, blooming countryside, and beautiful light over Delphi and the Peloponnese.

The sea is still warm and the summer crowds have left: perfect for combining sightseeing and Mediterranean mildness in Nafplio.

In July and August, the heat is intense and the mainland is very touristy: I therefore plan visits early in the morning and breaks in the shade. I design your itinerary according to the season to make the most of the country.

Céline's tips

MY EXPERTISE

✦ Arrive early at sites. Delphi, Epidaurus, and Mycenae are best visited right at opening, before the heat and the groups.

✦ Plan for modest attire. Shoulders and knees must be covered in churches and monasteries.

✦ Respect the ruins. Stay on the paths and do not pick up any stones at ancient sites.

✦ Go on a road trip. The mainland is best discovered by car: plan for breaks and do not leave anything visible inside.

✦ Keep some cash on hand. Useful for parking, tolls, and small village tavernas.
